Summary of the week (Aug 11-18)
- Dropped from 270.7 to 262.1
- Lost 8.6 lbs. the first 7 days. Lots of inflamation and water weight for sure. Still, 8.6 is awesome!
- 8,416 Calories for the Week is 1,200 average per day.
- 6 miles of walking for exercise. Total steps in general was 28,270 steps for the week. 4,000 steps per day average. Not a good number. New target is 10,000+ steps per day.
- After the first week all my inflamation and the feeling of arthritis in my elbows, knees, feet, legs and back are mostly gone. My lower back is 80% pain free and my feet have only a small amount of plantar fasciitis left. Not painful enough to slow me down. Biceps don't hurt. Neck doesn't hurt. My mind is clear. Like waking up from a fog.
Was 269 on August 2 and started a very mild attempt at losing weight. Got some bloating out of my system. Not sure I lost any fat. Weighed 265 on the 11th and 270.7 on the 12th. Had diarrhea most of the week. Not sure why. I am a little worried. Burping too much. In January of 2024 I had Helicobacter pylori and it was terrible. I don't want to repeat that.
Tools: Ozempic, metabolism pills, vitamins. Also using MyFitnessPal, MapMyFitness, an app connected to my scale called Weight Gurus and this website.
Exercise: Thinking of making a rule for myself that I must use cardio to burn any calories that are not strict carnivore. So, this morning I ate 600 calories for breakfast. 400 were with sausage, eggs and butter. 200 calories were coffee with sugar and milk. By this rule I would have to burn 200 calories by cardio. A walk in Stoneleigh is 320 calories.
Food: Carnivore diet. Any meat of any kind. Light cheese if any. Nothing else.
Deadlines: There are 109 days until Thanksgiving. 136 until Christmas. 252 until Easter 2025 and 284 until Madi's graduation.
- 265 minus 109 days = 218 (losing 3 lbs a week)
- 265 minus 136 days = 206 (losing 3 lbs a week)
- 265 minus 252 days = 157 (losing 3 lbs a week)
- 265 minus 284 days = 183 (losing 2 lbs a week)
Mid-Week Updates:
- On the 15th I weighed 263.2 and felt a little better. Went for a walk on the 14th for 28 minutes. I felt really bad around 11:00 AM on the 14th. Keto flu sort of symptoms. I pulled my macros and Sunday through Wednesday dinner time I had low protein. 29, 61, 82. Wednesday I was at 70 so I drank a protein shake around 8 PM with 70 grams of protein to get up to 140 grams for the day. Rule is ONE gram of protein per ideal body weight. I need to be targeting 180 grams of protein per day. This is going to be very hard for me. Huge challenge. Not sure I can afford it financially.
- Late afternoon on the 15th I walked 2.5 miles at Buford Damm. Hurt in a good way. Made me feel better throughout the evening.
- 260.8 the morning of the 16th so to hit 251 by Sept 1 I'll need to lose .67 per day between now and then. That's not really possible when each pound is a deficit of 3,500.
